Below are some of resources listed on the December edition of the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers’ monthly newsletter for FSL professionals.
Interactive French – “This resource offers interactive PowerPoint exercises for mixed ability groups in Years 7, 8 and 9 [Key Stage 3] French language learning… Most Interactive PowerPoint presentations feature vocabulary practice, levelled reading exercises and levelled written tasks. Some may offer listening exercises.”
French Language PowerPoint Exercises – This Web site offers 16 PowerPoint presentations. Fourteen of these are lessons focusing on the lyrics of songs and 2 are stories with sound effects.
Thinking and Learning through Fables – “The tale of The Fox and the Crow is presented as a short interactive story read by native French speakers. Two versions are available – the first contains slightly simpler language than the second. The text is accompanied by a Resource Manual containing an extensive bank of resources and activities designed to develop language learning strategies and knowledge about language. There is also a printable A4 version to use as a big book.”
